Unidentified Aircraft Jasper Alberta 1947

The photo above was posted on a railroad-related Facebook forum and the Britmodeller.com forum. It is said to be of an aircraft which crashed at Jasper, Alberta, in 1947. Can CAHS members help identify it?

The caption to this photo states:
"A plane crash Canadian National Railway yard. The plane was making a pass over the town to alert Pete Noullet and Bob Baxter Sr. of its arrival when a box shifted in the cockpit forcing the nose of the plane down."

Thanks in advance.
