The Directors and Officers of the CAHS National have been working hard this past year on a number of special projects. Director Mat Joost led the review and revisions of the Bylaws, as well as liaison with our legal counsel to “continue” as a corporation under Industry Canada’s new Canada Not-for-Profit Corporations Act (CNCA). Director and Treasurer Rachel Lea Heide has been working with our chartered accountant to complete all the financial audits up to, and including, 2013. Journal Editor and Graphics Manager Terry Higgins has been working along side the Editorial Board to catch up on Journal production. Web Administrator Alan Rust is making progress on a new website design that will include a Members' Section with content, as well as the ability to purchase Journals online, to name but a few of the new features. Newsletter Editor Lisa Ruck will continue to produce our monthly online newsletter that has proven so successful with membership.
All of these initiatives do mean extra costs, above and beyond the normal annual operating expenses. In order to begin 2015 in good financial standing, the CAHS National would like to ask our friends and members to help us raise $3000 in donations by the beginning of the new year. Any size contribution will be a big help! Donations can be made online through our website (paypal payment) or by downloading our mail-in form. Charitable donation receipts will be issued for all amounts.
Remember to renew your CAHS membership at this time of year, and we encourage you to recruit a new member with a gift of membership to someone who is interested in aviation history!
